Pat's Baby Safari, fleece backed quilt - quilted at Fabadashery Longarm Quilting

Sometimes the children's quilt panels you spy in our lovely quilt shops can be irresistible and offer a quick solution to the news of an imminent arrival.  Pat picked up this fun Baby safari panel with zebras, giraffes and tigers for one of her many grandchildren.

To add a bit of fun, Pat found some soft white fleece to put on the back of the quilt and then we chose the 'Paw Prints' quilting pattern - did I say that the longarm quilting patterns come up beautifully on fleece.  A gorgeous little gift.

Jacqui's hand-dyed baby mat - quilted by Fabadashery Longarm Quilting

Here is another lovely quilt which is to be gifted to a new baby. This time Jacqui has used all her beautifully hand-dyed fabric to make a colourful play mat.  The hand dyed fabrics have been washed well and it leaves them beautifully soft.  Here you can see it being quilted on my APQS longarm quilting machine, using the ever-versatile 'Popcorn' quilting design.

Meg's Baby Quilt - In Rainbow Colours

Rainbow Baby Quilt made by Meg
Once the first 2020 Lockdown was announced, there was an assumption that there was going to be a 'Baby Boom'. Initially, it never materialised, but with the number of baby quilts coming through my doors, it looks as if there has been a rebound.  This delightful rainbow quilt, made by Meg, couldn't be more perfect for a new baby in the current times.

Made with just squares and triangles, using a full spectrum of coloured fabric to form hearts, there was only one digital quilt pattern which matched up - 'Ginger Hearts' by Apricot Moon.

New Quilt Patterns!

This year more than ever my customers have made the most of my blog and Pinterest pages to get ideas of patterns they want on their quilt and how it may look on theirs.  I charge the same price for all of my  longarm quilting patterns because my aim is to make your quilt look the best it can and I don't want that compromised by the pattern.

So here are some new ones.  The first is Cloisonne designed by Valerie Smith and Patricia Ritter of Urban Elementz.  I have got to use this one already with spectacular results - can't wait to show you.  Also here 'Plumeria party' and 'Orange Blossom' designed by Christy Dillon of My Creative Stitches.

Jennie's On Point Orange, Green and Blue Quilt with Diagonal Plaid Bias pattern

Jennie's Quilt

I hope you are enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend.  I am catching up on jobs and in between I started to browse through some photos of customer quilts.  So many quilts pass through the doors of Fabadashery Longarm Quilting that I don't always have the time to share them all on my social media.  Here is one made by Jennie, which used up some of her stash, which I think a lot of us have had to do that this year.

The digital quilting pattern on this quilt is called Diagonal Plaid Bias.  It has the feel of a cross-hatch, but cleverly has softened edges to make for smoother stitching and is more forgiving when the lines don't match with the piecing.  Great for men's quilts too.
