One of the challenges which quilters have is having a beautiful piece of fabric in front of them and cutting into it for the first time.  Pat purchased these gorgeous Tim Holtz fabrics, which are works of art in themselves, and cleverly chose a quilt pattern with large shapes which showed them off in all their brilliance.

Keeping to the modern theme and style of the quilt, Pat chose Modern Curves by Anita Shackleford as the quilting pattern.

Clare created this wonderful scrap masterpiece as a gift for Christmas. The backing and the main triangles are plain white, but the mix of scrap fabrics, repurposing old clothes and using favourite fabrics, has brought together this delightful quilt.  As I write this it is near freezing outside and I am sure that whoever received it is making good use of it!

The quilt pattern we chose was Ginger Stars, in a cool grey thread, which is barely there, but keeps the quilt together. With the white backing, it is just a sea of stars.
