Welcome to Day 12, the final day, of Fabadashery Twelve Days of Christmas.  It seemed appropriate to finish with Karen's Twelve Days of Christmas quilt, designed by Nicola Dodd of Cake Stand Quilts.  Everyone is there including the milkmaids and the French hens, all in lovely Tilda fabrics.  To keep with the theme, Karen chose the digital quilting pattern, 'Quite A Pear' designed by Sarah Ann Myers, which as it says has lots of pears in it - I hope the partridge is happy!

Welcome to Day 11 of the Fabadashery Twelve days of Christmas.  Today I am sharing Sue's beautiful embroidery perse quilt, which also features applique, English paper piecing and some fussy cutting.  This quilt was a top contender for some custom quilting treatment.  These always require a lot more thought to make sure the piecing and quilting are balanced and in harmony.  A longarm quilter always loves a bit of white space and this quilt allowed space for some traditional feathers and some cross-hatching - the perfect combination.

I always love the moment I take it off the frame as you get to see the whole quilt for the first time.  The 100% Hobbs Wool wadding really made the difference.

Welcome to Day 10 of the Fabadashery Twelve Days of Christmas.  Today I am sharing a before and after photo of Sheila's Bluebird and rainbow quilt.  This is a quilt which Sheila devised herself for one of her many family members.  It is one of the quilts which I custom quilted in 2022 and it is always amazing to see how the quilting can transform a quilt.

Day 9 Twelve days of Christmas - Nicola's Imari Plate Kaffe Fassett Quilt

Welcome to Day 9 of the Fabadahery Longarm Quilting Twelve Days of Christmas.  Today is a lovely cheerful quilt made by Nicola.  It is a Kaffe Fassett medallion quilt called 'Imari Plate'.  Nicola had done her homework and had taken time to look through my Pinterest pattern catalogue beforehand, identifying a fabulous pattern called ' New Dehli' by Patricia Ritter, which she wanted on her quilt.  Also, Nicola had purchased a lovely Moda extra wide backing fabric, 'Thatched' by Robin Pickens, which was simple enough to show the quilting pattern on the reverse of the quilt. So, a lovely Kaffe Fassett quilt top on the front and a rather cool wholecloth quilt on the back.

Day 8 Twelve Days of Christmas - Catherine's Grassy Creek Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt

Welcome to day 8 of the Fabadashery Longarm Quilting Twelve Days of Christmas.  Today I am sharing Catherine's Grassy Creek Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt from 2020.  Once Bonnie Hunter released her new Mystery Quilt, Chilhowie, back in October 2022, Catherine felt the need to finish the last bits of her Grassy Creek quilt, so she could get on board with the new one.  A quick shop at Quilting in the Meadows in Weston-Super-Mare, she was able to pick up some grey fabric for the backing and then drop it off to me to quilt it. The quilting pattern is 'Ginger Snaps' by Apricot Moon. I look forward to seeing  Catherine's 'Chilhowie' mystery quilt in the near future.

Day 7 Twelve Days of Christmas - Ann's Flying Geese Quilt

Welcome to Day 7 of Fabadashery Longarm Quilting Twelve Days of Christmas.  This is Ann's Flying Goose Quilt which she has made using Moda Bonnie and Camille fabric.  Over the past few years Ann has been learning more about patchwork and quilting through workshops at Busy Bees Patchwork in Newport.  This is a Flying Geese Quilt she has made and Fabadashery Longarm Quilting helped to finish it off.  The quilting pattern we used was 'Kiss' designed by Melonie J Caldwell, a simple paisley pattern.
