Festival of Quilts Catalogue 2024

This week sees the opening of the Festival of Quilts at the NEC, Birmingham, UK - will you be going?  I don't have any of my own quilts on display this year, but a few of my customers have entered in the Two Person Category. 
If you are making a special trip, it is a great show to pick up the bits you need to finish off your quilt, like the backing fabric and the binding, so don't forget to take your fabric swatches with you.  Once you have everything together, get in touch and I can longarm quilt it for you.  

TOP TIP - take a note of the make of your sewing machine, just in case you need new bobbins or feet at the show.

Today I am sharing Ann's Starry Path Quilt which she followed from and American Quilting magazine.  From the picture of the whole quilt, you can see it was a very large quilt, reaching the ceiling when it was displayed - a real labour of love.

With lots of white space, the quilting pattern really had a place to shine, so Ann chose an elegant spiral pattern called 'Surf' designed by Anne Bright.

NEW Quilting Designs - Redwing and Poodle

Once in a while I have a few new Digital quilting designs for you all to choose from, here are a few of the latest. Sometimes it is the simplest quilts which are most effective.  June has pulled out her scraps and made a collection of half square triangle blocks to make a Broken Dishes quilt.  She has used some old and new fabrics, but with this pattern, they all blend beautifully.

With a busy quilt top the quilting pattern wasn't going to be the main player, but Ginger Hearts is a simple and effective quilting pattern in my library which works well on a range of quilts.

Today I am sharing Margie's Applique Hearts quilt, based on a Laundry Basket Quilts pattern, using Edyta Sitar fabrics.  The soft tones of the fabric range go so well with the linen coloured background.  With pretty fabrics, a pretty quilting pattern was in order, so we reached for an Anne Bright digital pattern, called 'Haven.
