It's a while since I have shown a quilt featuring the 'Modern Curves' quilting pattern that is so popular.  Here Penny has made a striking modern quilt using ochre yellow fabrics from the same range. The quilting really adds to the modern feel.

The quilt pattern, called the Firestorm Quilt designed by Bonnie Sullivan, was featured in Quiltmania magazine. Valerie liked this quilt so much she made two! I also really enjoyed quilting this quilt because it was made out of MODA Flannel fabric, which is beautifully soft.  It's lovely texture quilted beautifully and really made me want to make a flannel quilt too.

The quilt was for a male relative and to quilt it Valerie chose this simple Paisley pattern called 'Kiss'.

I really love to hear the stories behind the quilts which my customers bring me. This sampler quilt started off as Emily's GCSE Textiles project many, many years ago.  Mum took it up as a project and more recently finished the quilt top.  It measures 98" x 114".  It was an epic project and once a quilt top becomes this large, it makes sense to consider having it longarm quilted.  Fabadashery Longarm Quilting also offers a partial binding service which adds the binding to the quilt and trims it down, leaving just the final binding seam - giving you the pleasure of finishing off the whole project.

This weekend has been celebrating National Jelly Roll Day, so I thought I would share with you one of the recent Jelly Roll quilts I have had the pleasure of quilting for Cath. The Jelly Roll pattern is called 'Jitterbug' by Pam & Nicky Lintott, which was featured in Issue 33 of Today's Quilter 2018.

West Country Quilt and Textile Show 2019 - Customer Quilts

I had a lovely day at the 2019 West Country Quilt and Textile Show in Bristol this weekend. I was lucky enough to win a prize for one of my own quilts, but it was perhaps even more wonderful to see so many of my longarm customers entering their quilts into the show.  It seemed that every corner I turned there was a quilt which I had had the pleasure of quilting. Dear Jane Quilt - West Country Quilt and Textile Show 2019 - Best Piecing

My Dear Jane quilt has been out and about again, this time to the West Country Quilt and Textile Show 2019.  I am pleased to say that it won a rosette for 'Best Piecing'.  It was lovely to chat to those of you who are in the middle of your Dear Jane journey - keep going, it will be worth it!
