Sue Watter's Custom Quilt - Fabadashery Longarm Quilting

I have recently had the pleasure of quilting this quilt for Sue.  There are lots of feathers on this one! If you are wanting a custom finish to your quilt, I highly recommend the Hobbs 100% Wool, the loft in this wadding will give dimension to the quilting.  You can often see more of the custom quilting and the work involved if you look on the reverse of a quilt.

Here is a photo of it when it was on my HandiQuilter frame, where you can see I have done my fancy feathers on the border and the quilt had a perfect space for some cross-hatching, which always looks lovely.

Here is another wonderful quilt by Linda which  she created with the assistance of her Accuquilt cutter - better cuts make better quilts, as there tagline advertises.  From the evidence of this quilt it is true.

On this occasion, we used 'Bird's Eye View' digital quilt pattern, designed by Barbara Becker. I like this pattern a lot because the spaces between the lines are smooth and evenly spaced, which has a calm effect on the overall quilt.

Blue and white is always a popular colour choice for quilts. This quilt by Eirwen had fabric patterns reminiscent of  Dutch Delft china and those patterns were the inspiration for the digital quilting pattern.

In this detail you can see the 'Moxie' quilt pattern, one of my favourites, which really added to the overall quilt.

Here is another version of the 2021 Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt, Rhododendron Trail, made by Jenny.  Look at the one done by Di and see how different they are.  Jenny has used mainly reproduction fabrics, but managed to throw in some interesting novelty cats and dogs. No flying geese border on this one and the blocks are on point - it is great how you can adapt the Mystery to make it your own.  Loads of scraps - brilliant!

I have only just realised that Jenny also went for 'Ginger Flight' as the quilt pattern, a butterfly pattern designed by Apricot Moon. Only 4 months until Bonnie Hunter releases the details of the 2022 Mystery Quilt at the end of October!
