 A lovely day at Quilt UK Malvern quilt show.  I knew a few of my longarm quilting customers were  entering some of their quilts, but I was pleased to see that there were a few more than I had expected.  Well done to Sheila, Alyson, Debbie, Natalie and Catherine for entering the show.

Here is another New design for you to consider.  I have stitched out here onto calico on quite a small scale, but it is a pattern which would look stunning on a modern style quilt.

'Hannah's Scrap Hexagon Quilt'

I believe that this is Hannah's first bed quilt.  It has been stitched together entirely by hand and ended up quite big.  This is where a longarm quilting service is really useful.  As well as quilting the quilt, I also added the binding, which meant that a few nights of hand sewing was all that was needed to finish it off.  The quilt was also trimmed down, another arduous task on a big quilt.

With hundreds of different fabrics, the front of the quilt was quite busy, so its main purpose was to hold the three layers together.  The pattern Hannah chose was called 'Surf'', a digital quilting pattern, designed by Anne Bright.

NEW PATTERN - Jasmine by Anne Bright

 I have been trying out some new patterns on some small projects, including this cute little pouch.  This pattern is called 'Jasmine' and I have stitched it out in quite a small scale on some dupion silk in Fil-Tec Glide Pink thread.  This pattern is not too dense and the pattern is evenly spread.

Susan Smith Quilt, made by Margie, quilted at Fabadashery Longarm Quilting

 

Margie has made this lovely quilt for her friend.  It is a quilt pattern by Susan Smith, published in one of her Quiltmania publications.  There was a lovely selection of soft blues and pinks in this quilt, with a neutral background, so we used a digital pattern which echoed the gentle feel of the overall quilt. 

 The pattern on this quilt was called 'Haven' designed by Anne Bright, which has small flourishes and flowers.

Here is Marianne's quilt, showing off its lovely linen texture with a popular digital pattern called 'Nemesh Feathers'.  When a quilt is made from fabrics, other than normal quilting fabric, it is always interesting to see what effect the actual quilting will have on it.  In this case, it brought the fabrics alive.

I have been working on some smaller projects lately which have allowed me to try out some of the patterns in my library.  Today, I am sharing 'Chevron Feathers' designed by Christy Dillon.  This shows it stitched out in Fil-Tec Glide Amethyst thread on a Dupion silk.
