May 2024 - Longarm Quilting Drop-Off Dates, Fabadashery Longarm Quilting

 

If you have been working on a quilt over the last few months and it is ready for quilting, May is a great time to drop your quilts off to Fabadashery Longarm Quilting.  May is a busy month, with Bank Holidays and of course Quilts UK, Malvern Show 16th-19th May, where I have a quilt on display and I know a few of my customers have some delights on show as well.  Do look out for them.

For your quilting inspiration today, here is Mel's New York Beauty quilt, in lovely soft colours of blues and neutrals.  New York Beauty quilts are usually foundation pieced and involve a lot of intricate piecing, especially dealing with the curved seams.  To echo the circles, Mel chose a simple circular  quilting pattern called 'Bubbles', designed by Lorien Quilting.

Shirley's Celtic Knot Medallion Quilt

Here is Shirley's beautiful and unique Celtic Knot quilt in just three fabric colours, black, brown and white.  With all the detailed applique and knotwork, it took us some time to work out what quilt pattern would complement it the most.  After looking through the wide choice we have on offer, we ended up with 'Bam' by Jessica Schick in a light tan thread, which echoed the curves of the knots, but didn't detract from the detailed stitching.

Linda's Embroidered Quilt - Fabadashery Longarm Quilting

 

Linda's Embroidered Quilt

Fabadashery Longarm Quilting has done several embroidered quilts over the years.  Linda's Embroidery Machine is her new passion and is combining her embroidered motifs with her Accuquilt blocks.  This little block featuring a pine cone, was just one of many stitched blocks using the Brother Country Matt embroidery thread, which instead of being shiny, blends beautifully with the soft fabrics.  With all this detail, we chose a very simple quilting pattern, Bam, a simple meander.  To lessen the effect of the quilting even more, we used a 60 weight Bottomline thread, instead of the usual 40 weight Glide.
