It is that time of year again, when the quilting community get together to share their passion for quilting. Today I headed up to Birmingham NEC to deliver some quilts for myself and Bristol Quilters. It is always exciting to see the first stages of set up - the calm before the storm! Whilst I am here - a big thank you to all the volunteers who help to make it all happen.
So, if you are heading up to the Festival of Quilts here are some quilts to look out for. From the Show Plan it looks like all the Competition Quilts are together in Hall 9.
TD11 (Traditional) Treasure Box by Frances Meredith
This is my entry for 2022. Enjoy.
GR12 (Group Quilts) Cornish Busy Bees
Take time to study the detail and the humour of this quilt. My small part was the quilting.
TW30 (Two Person Quilt) Starry Night by Jane Burnham-Slipper
Jane made this stunning quilt and asked me to quilt it for her. I can't wait to see it again.
Also the grandson of one of my longarm customers, Shona, has put an entry in the Young Quilters section (Age 5-9), YQ4 (Young Quilters) The Fastest Comes First by Elis Watts
In the photo you can see my carrying a number of entries which include some from Bristol Quilters
MN16 (Miniature Quilts) London in the Spring by Sorcha Torrens
QC29 (Quilt Creations) Top Hat Crazy by Sorcha Torrens. This is in the box in the photo and despite it sitting in my office for a week, I resisted the temptation to take a peek - I look forward to seeing it.
TW19 (Two Person Quilts) Memories of Pioneer Women by Christine Porter
I will be at the show for a few days, say hello if you see me.
