Last time, I featured one of Susan's quilts, it received a very positive reaction from all of you.  Well, she has done it again, this time printing images of Australian flowers onto fabric to incorporate them into her quilt.  There are also some of her signature animals and shells.

Susan is one of my postal customers, so although we have never met, we are able to correspond to make her quilts the best they can be, choosing the thread colour and quilt pattern to get the best effect.

On this occasion, we chose 'Malachite' designed by Patricia Ritter for Urban Elementz, with Glide Prickly Pear thread.

When someone brings Fabadashery Longarm Quilting a quilt I never quite know what I am going to unfold.  When I first saw Anne's quilt, I was amazed by the design and colours, but I wasn't sure what quilting pattern was going to work on it. A quick flick through my pattern book and I felt I had found one which would be perfect.

With the movement of the black and white lines, we chose 'African Samba' stitched in a mid-grey Glide thread.  The pattern seemed to echo the windows of colourful Kaffe's Fassett fabrics.  I am sure this gift was well-received.

8th Day of Christmas 2024 - Sue's SOS Liberty Log Cabin Quilt

Sue's SOS Liberty Quilt

Since 2016 the Quilt SOS Project organised by Alice Caroline has been distributing Liberty fabric quilts to a range of charities at home and abroad.  Throughout the years, Sue has always made a contribution and, with some help from a friend, this year has made a rainbow log cabin quilt in a wide range of Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics. This year the quilts will be supporting families through GARAS (Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers). If you want to get involved, get in touch with Alice Caroline.

The purpose of these quilts are to keep people warm and to be easy to care for, so on this occasion we used 100% Hobbs Polydown and quilted it with a pretty new pattern to my collection called 'Shell Game' designed by Willow Leaf Studio.
