William Morris 'Firecworks' quilt (Sewing Quarter), made by Pat, quilted by Frances Meredith

Sometimes the best way to learn a new skill is to buy a kit and this is exactly what Pat did when she decided to make her first quilt.  She purchased this 'Fireworks' quilt kit from The Sewing Quarter TV channel and set to work.  What I really love about this quilt is that it is one which is easy to live with, not too bright, not to big, but a quilt which would go in any home and be used every day. Perfect.

For the quilting, we chose a soft brown Mocha Glide thread and an elegant digital pantograph called 'Squirts' by Anne Bright.  I think I have mentioned before how much I love this pattern.  Below I have given you a glimpse of the back, which by the way was a good quality 100% cotton sheet bought from Dunelm - it was gorgeous!  Pat also took advantage of my binding service, which meant she could get it finished in double quick time.
