Do you have a hand piecing patchwork project on the go? I love my hand piecing and I like that it can have it with me wherever I need to take it.  Mercedes brought me this huge hexagon quilt which she has been working on for a long time, using Moda French General fabrics (her favourite!) The hexagons are random, but because she used the same range of fabric, they blend beautifully.

There are a couple of things to think about when making a hexagon quilt - the layout, how big is it / do I need it to be , and how will I finish off the edges.  With regard to the last one, you can see in the photo that the edge has the zig zag of the hexagon shape.  Mercedes asked me to quilt the whole quilt and she was going to cut the quilted edges straight before she bound it. The pattern which she chose to go allover her quilt was Squirts - one of the new patterns I purchased in the 2018 Black Friday sales.  It was the first quilt I used the pattern on and I loved it so much that I used it on one of my own quilts.  Indeed, it has become one of my more popular patterns in the last year.
